3 Cherokee Reservation
Находится в штате Северная Каролина, в районе Грейт-Смоки-Маунтинс [ Great Smoky Mountains]. Площадь 229 кв. км. В 1983 здесь жили 6,1 тыс. индейцев восточной общины племени чероки [ Eastern Band of Cherokee], неиндейцев около 2 тыс. человек. Создана в 1874. Резервация состоит из нескольких частей: самая крупная - Куалла [Qualla], в 80 км от нее - Сноу-Бэрд [Snow Bird] (9 кв. км), далее на запад - разрозненные участки площадью 20 кв. км. Свыше 80 процентов площади - леса. Развиты лесоводство, плотничество, предпринимательство, ремесла сохраняются в значительной мере для производства изделий на продажу туристам; в середине 50-х годов создано предприятие по производству изделий из кожи и шерсти (160 рабочих, ежегодный объем реализуемой продукции 300 тыс. долл.). Относительно процветающая община, получающая основной доход от туризма.
